Intra-oral camera
The intra-oral camera takes fantastic close-up pictures of teeth. This technology isn't exactly new -- what's new is the ability to store and view these images on a computer, not just a television screen. This allows us to look at the same picture at a later date and compare then and now. It also allows us to send the image to insurance companies or dental specialists so they can view the same images (both x-rays and pictures) as we consult over the phone. The images can also be printed for you to take home. The biggest advantage is that we can now -- with very great detail -- show you exactly what we see in your mouth, which lets you make a much more informed decision on your dental care.
For problems viewable on the outside of teeth, the dental video camera, also called the intra-oral camera, allows a patient to see what we see. For example, if a patient has decay leaking around filling edges or cracks in teeth, we can enlarge the image of the tooth using the dental camera and screen, giving the patient an accurate understanding of the problem and treatment options. This allows you to see what in the past, only the doctor could see.
The intra-oral camera takes fantastic close-up pictures of teeth. These spectacular images help you in seeing and understanding what the exact condition of your teeth is. This knowledge is powerful in making your choices for treatment. Images are digitally stored, which allows us to send them to insurance companies to help in maximizing your benefits. Also, the images can be printed and used to remind you of specific problem areas that need your attention and our treatment. This technology helps us in properly diagnosing and selecting for you the best treatment.
We use a special camera that take images of teeth inside the mouth. We use the images to communicate properly the status of health or disease. These images are saved as part of a paper reduced digital chart.
