He is recognized by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry by the award of Accredited Status for "demonstrating excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry." The AACD is the world's largest organization devoted to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. This prestigious professional designation is held by only a dozen Canadian dentists.
A leader and innovator in his profession, Dr. Blitz served as Chairman of the Continuing Education Curriculum Development Committee of the AACD (1999-2000). In addition, he served a 2-year term as President of the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

For example, he is an innovator and expert in cosmetic dentistry technology as the developer of the metal free Vectris post, a device that can be used with porcelain crowns for the restoration of teeth that have had root canal therapy.
Dr. Blitz's articles are published in peer reviewed dental journals on restorative and aesthetic dentistry and he lectures in both Canada and abroad. He is the primary author of Diagnosis and Treatment Evaluation in Cosmetic Dentistry, a 2001 publication which is the AACD's official guide to clinical accreditation criteria and outlines the standards for excellence in appearance related cosmetic dentistry.
These outstanding credentials are combined with a warm and sincere chair-side manner which has been recognized in Dr. Blitz being voted by his patients the Best Dentist in The Etobicoke Guardian Readers' Choice Awards. In 2002, he was given the Dale Carnegie Courses Highest Award for Achievement.
In 1999, he joined Dr. Bulger in the purchase of a building and the opening of the office of their dreams. Royal York Dental, at 3034 Bloor Street West in Toronto, which reflects his dedication to excellence in quality patient care and passion for dentistry.
Dr. Blitz is married to his high school sweetheart and they have three daughters. Jennifer is a lawyer; Amanda, a law student; and Renessa, a graduate student at Ryerson University. With four beautiful women in his corner and a dental team that is virtually a second family, Dr. Blitz is a fortunate man indeed.
